Ashigaru using a yari (similar to spear)

I will try to make an image, but don't except much :)

power: 13
armor: 3
pierce armor: 0
speed: 3
sight: 3
cost: 3

bonus: big bonus on mounted units
small on archers (50%)

Good one, to make them more in line with the gun ashigaru that i've made they should cost 1 and be weaker than a spearman, but their strenght should be in the number.
They should also need a tech

not neceserily. The yari is a pretty powerful weapon so attack power mustn t go under the spearmens.
armor was different. Some of them used weak armor while others heavy armor. I think what I mentuoned would be better.
1 turn- no we shouldnt add it as an 1-turn unit
tech-I dont think so.

Or keep it the same as the first stats but increase cost into 4

what about 10 power?
because yari is similar to spear so shouldn't have less power.

If the cost is three, Darkknight's stats make it worthless. A swordsman is waaaaay better and only costs 2 turns.

Yeah. And I would prefer if it is power won't go downer than 12 because this us a somewhat like an armored pikeman.

i think yari is much taller than other units, although i think he should be smaller (but at least equal) than european swordsman.

seeing that it's made on one of my version of the tanegashima ashigaru i might try to make one with a yari in hand.
we might also put it at the castle

I am thinking that this unit got forgottened by people because it is now a old topic. This unit is still not available for making inside the game. It is only available for map editor. I think it should now be added to castles (or somewhere else) so it can be used for multiplayer games.

I can produce it in castles once i get the gunpowder tech!
Have you gotten the upgrade?
I remember using it in a map

I just made a small map with the yari ashigaru on one team and swordmen on the other team to test out the power of the yari ashigaru. It was 36 yari ashigaru (controlled by me) and 36 swordmen in a 12*12 map. The map has no obsticals or any other terrain to use for advantage.
RESULT:
I won. NONE of my yari ashigaru died. I even had 12 yari ashigaru with no damage at all.

Also in another test the archers were also useless at this.
This proves that it is very hard to kill with normal units. (Swordmen, knight, archers).
Also this unit is way better than the samurai who has the same cost (3 turns)
Samurai: 22hp 9attack 1armor 0pierce armor
Yari ashigaru: 13hp 12attack 4armor 2pierce armor
Exept for the hp the yari ashigaru is better than a samurai. Also the health wont make much difference because the yari ashigaru has high armor.

My suggestion:
1. Lower his armor to 2 and pierce armor to 1.
2. Give archers and swordmen little bonus against it (10%)
3(maybe). Lower attack to 10.

Remember that yari ashigaru is a elite unit made at castle. It has no upgrades and as far as i know doesn't receive bonus from the blacksmith upgrades.

Try making the same test with man at arms upgraded and with both weapon/armors upgraded at 2nd level

I just tested it and yari ashigaru DOES get bonus from blacksmith.
I did a test with 36 yari ashigaru with 36 man at arms. Result: Man at arms won with 12 very badly damaged units.
I also did a test with the yari ashigaru with all the upgrades from black smith and normal man at arms. Result: Yari ashigaru had very little death. Most yari ashigaru was badly hurt but still most were alive. Man at arms lost. It took 2 hits from a yaribashigaru to kill a man at arms.

I think that is ok, a yari ashigaru costs 3 not 2, you should make a different test:

Try 30 man at arms vs 20 yari ashigaru, all with the same upgrades

the total cost is 60 for both part that way

Also note even who got the first turn

Also, i saw you spoken about the samurai before, but samurai is one of the worst unit you might want to build n this game, and the strenght of samurai should be in double attack, that makes his attack being like a 18, not a 9.
