Tournament Of Balance (AoF)

I have decided to host a tournament for AoF (as the topic title says) which (hopefully) will be balanced. Anybody can join and please do not complain about some of the rules (constructive criticism is welcome though). The prize for winning the tournament is a cup and 1000 gems from Stratego (Dev).

The breaking of the following rules results in a disqualification:
-No Orcs Allowed (showcase race)
-No Scaledfolks Allowed (Heavy Beta)
-Breaking milder rules repeatedly
-No dwarves (Beta uncomplete race)
-Using "All upgrades" or "Spells on"

After breaking a combination of the following rules 3 times (or once in semi-finals or finals) will result in a disqualification:
-No using Favourising map, such as maps with many neutrals as undead
-Complaining repeatedly about orcs not being allowed
-Fog is not allowed, please use revealed or explored
-Sacred Forest Medium and Sacred Forest Small are not to be used, the other two are fine to use.

Recruitment will last a week, to see the approximate numbers (Joining after a week is allowed too). You choose a race for the entirety of the tournament and changing is allowed only before your first game starts. Unadvised to play as dwarves. At least 48 hours before skipping. Map size allowed from 20/20 to 35/35. No kicking out of games. If you have any questions then ask here on the forums (topic or pm), at Patrol#2430 on discord.

Hi,
i would join but i wont caus tehre are too many minor rules.
i have to complain that u dont allow orcs for some wierd reason
or that u have this rule : "Breaking of this rule is to get reported to me and then I will investigate whether the tactic/strategy used is unfair"
wich is basically a freecard for anyone disliking a ceartain playstyle and i would always have the fear that i would be
disqualified randomly for doing something thats possible without cheating.
Why are orcs not allowed?
Nonetheless setting up rules about how to play in a strategy game is something im personally highly suspiciois of and that completly turns my interest away. Everything thats possible via game mechanics should be allowed.

Orcs are forbidden because the author (and others) considers them op.

The "unfair tactics and strategies" do require explanation. We need at least a full list of what is consider as one. Etc isn't enough.

About orcs yes, I consider them overpowered and non-tournament friendly. I'll update/edit the tactic strategy with a list of un-allowed things, if there is any imbalanced or op strategy that i missed out let me know.

Actually now that I think about it, I'll remove it altogether. True, it was kinda dumb.

To explain orc ban: They have strongest early game rush, strongest late game, strongest units (rock hurler, uruk hais, ettins), and let's be honest, if orcs were allowed then a player with them would be certain to win.

Another suggestion - disable to choosing for now dwarves.
Reason: they are still work in progress and do not have yet all options and upgrades they supposed to have.

What exactly do you mean by skirmish maps? Like the maps with preset units?
I'll disable dwarves for now.

Not exactly preset units but maps (by me made for example) with preset tc generation. You can choose races on them but position, animals and such is fixed.

On those maps players still own 1 tc at start only and gain amount of units that is set.

Sacred forest franchise - 4 maps with sizes 20x20, 25x25, 30x30 and 35x35.
All 4 maps have name "Sacred Forest" at base.

They all are at the bottom of map choosing.

Okay so, the normal and big "Sacred Forest" maps are used, the other 2 will result in matches longer than should be.

I do not think 5 people is enough so the start will probably have to wait a couple weeks (or months). I dont expect this to be causing inconvenience to anyone (lol) but yeah, sorry I guess.

6 people should be fine, if you're waiting for 8 might be awhile. But that is your call.
