Macedonian Phalangite (pikeman)

Similar to the Uruk Hai pikeman in appearance, but with Hellenistic bronze armour.
Is weak by itself, but needs to group with other macedonian phalangites as a phalanx to have higher stats(like the legion formation tech).
Has a huge bonus against large units and unshielded units.
Important mechanic: Phalangite is only strong when attacked from the front. Phalangite takes more damage when attacked from side or rear.

The thing is that here is no such mechanics like front, side and rear.

It's easier to edit already existing images like the pikeman. You can download them (only 1 kb), open them in your image editor. Then change the units clothes and add a shield to it.

You can left click or tap and hold on an image posted on forums to find the option to download them.

This is an improved draft of the phalangite pikeman. I don't know how to do the shadows. If someone knows, please tell me that or another advice.

That look so good (not as much as our Savra) but NC for a beginner (idk if that's beginner)

I suggest making the spear 2 sided and following other players suggestion to copy the unit in game and edit it.

For shadows, you want to lower the transparency setting of black colors. Then place it down in a circular manner around the unit's feet.

I don't use pixly, but the transparency bar usually has a full color on one end and black and gray patterns on the other end.

The upgrade cost 5 turns. Voulgier and svardstavier are barrack units. Where should the phalangite be produced?

Since there is a roman garrison, i think we need a more ancient building, perhaps a barbarian camp signifying all existing barbarians in the times of the romans as well as units before roman era like celts, greeks and persians

That's right, there could be trained some other units like hoplites peltast or companion cavalry. By now, it could be traines on castles too.

I dnt think so. Macedonian phalangites are ancients army. There could be an option: royal pikeman from macedony or seleucid silver shielded pikeman. The basic unit name should be then phalanx pikeman. So any option fix.

standard spearman stats:

Sight 4

Some hp and range for speed and better bonus. I think is pretty balanced. Also, Spike Levy is only able at hellenic barracks and doesnt have an upgrade
