Upgrade/manage your tows

Post by Lancer » Mon Sep 29, 2014 10:02 am

I have idea where you can build buildings IN your town.you can build workshop to decrease building of siege equepent lile catapult, rams, ship catapult by 1-2 turns, you can build libary to decrease time research is completed, you can build farm to increase space in towns for units up to 6,you can build watchtower in town so that town has much bigger line of sight, you can build hospital so that units will be healed faster, you can build fortifications so that defense of units in town will be increased. Those buildings are pernament upgrades for certain towns and cant be destroyed, they take 5-10 turns to build, the way how are they buildet is in production menu next to units and tehnology menu theres also town upgrades menu that shows all avaible upgrades in town.

there is one, but I can't find it....

building: special units (the really special) would require a buolding to train them.
wall: incrase meele defence
Strengtened roof: kncrase ranged defence
Watchtower: incrase line of sight with 2
extendes barracks: incrase the capacity
international headquarters: let you train national units.
(trainkng complex):let you to train 2 units at one time.

This could be a VERY cool purchasable-upgrade tech!! It should be only possible using Master Craftsmen ( http://www.ageofstrategy.net/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1281)be expensive to research, expensive to implement (in-game), and require individual structure-by-structure bulding, but it could potentially totally turn a match around!! Great idea!! :-)

sorry for the mis-type-ings:
You mean inventing the tech will upgrade only the building it is invented in?
The similar buildings remains as original, on level 1 ?

Sounds like a possible variation on the Engineering tech i mentioned before, unless I'm misunderstanding..but this only affects structures, right? ...it's a cool idea!!

Okay, since there doesn't seem to be any specifics forthcoming on TC leveling , how about this: for each number x of units trained and number y of techs successfully completed by a TC, it gains a level, increasing its properties like greater garrison capacity, faster unit training, higher-level techs available (tech's would be separated by grades), shorter tech research times, etc...but if the player holding that TC loses control of it, it keeps the new level and the conquering player gains the benefits (only in that specific TC, though, of course...)

your version, because it would be too long for a small game to train xy units, instead of using up x turns.

Or

the town could have building-build square next to the unit-train one.

In the version i mentioned, it would be an algorithm that accumulates points for each TC, based on which activities it completes; i.e., if a TC trains a whole bunch of units, it gets points toward its leveling for each unit it trains...if it researches a bunch of techs, it accumulates points based on the techs it finishes...when it reaches a certain number of accumulated points, it levels up automatically...if a TC is occupied but inactive, it accumulates no points toward leveling...but you would have to be crazy to leave a TC inactive, anyway...

Yes, but balint did have specifics on tc leveling. This new way is good, but not very much like the game.
Thanks!

True...I'm just trying to come up with a practical system for the leveling...there didn't seem to be any beyond the initial idea of town leveling...

What about mixing?
The Tc needs points, and if your tc have enough poonts you can build the specific structures which give ya bobuses.
