Re: Double macemen

A good example is that at the beginning of WW1 the french tought that of theu fored enough artillery to the german trenches they would be weak enough for the infantry to take them. Bad surprise when they found out the germans werent as weak as they thought theu would be after days of shelling. Conse...

Re: Double macemen

Military intelligence and data gathering pretty much, yeah. With the better example being the US. But again not everything can be predicted and responded addecuately if it was that way, wars would last very little.

Re: Maulman

Maybe some sort of "stun" or takedown and no not all units need such things unless demed necessary. Each unit has its own thing.

Re: Fencer

Reallisticly wars have a lot of random factors, they arent simplified equations.

Both modern and medieval wars have decid8ng factors that cannot be predicted.

Eitherway its totally necesary for games like Aos to be as uniform and constant as possible to make it fun and balanced.

Re: Make all types of Lancers be affected by reach

It reminds me of the idea I had not so Long ago that all lance cavalry should have the ability to charge in a straight Line dealing a good amount of damage but said units base attack would be very low as a lance is a one use weapon. Then the player would need to retreat his lancers to repeat the pro...

Re: Professional

gambison is extremely strong Not really. Gambeson can be sliced or pierced quite easily. It was used only by poor fighters or under proper armor as it only gives proper protection vs bludgeoning strikes. To provide full protection it was weared under chainmail or later plate armor. I believe gambes...

Re: Mongudai

@Gral.Sturnn , @godOfKings I believe You two are mixing two different things. Yes mongol army had heavy armored mounted warriors. They did not however made a bulk of the army. Mongols had heavy, heavily armored lance using cavalry - clearly equivalent of european knights. But most of the army was m...

Re: Mongudai

On the early stages of the mongol empire they obviously didnt have armor as the trives united, but later on as they grew and conquered Genghis Khan could conceal armor for his warriors, obviously it was a comodity that not everyone had but even after Genghis death the mongols kept using armor, dont ...

ships already had cannons in the 1400s they only got more complex after that, at the beginning they acted as mobile battlefields but slowly they got more firepower

Battle of wenzenbach

The `Bohemian battle’, also variously referred to as the `Battle of Wenzenbach’ and the `Battle of Schönberg’, took place on September 12, 1504 and was an important battle in the Landshut War of Succession, a conflict that marked the culmination of over a hundred years of territorial squabbling amon...

Re: Poleaxeman

Well, it's true not all anti-armor weapons were one-handed. But regular footman was better with shield (he didn't have expensive full-plate armor from good steel). More spread use of two-handed weapons for normal infantry came with spreading of firearms (shields were not very effective against musk...

Re: Poleaxeman

Not quite - typical anti-armor weapon of late medieval was either blunt or piercing. Like horsman pick combining both, maces, flails. Typical anti-infantry was still slashing - sabers, axes. Typical anti-cavalry was guisarme (succedded by halberd). Warhammers were also used on strongly armored ones...
