lotr campaign team

Hi!

We ralked about the Lotr storyline in another topic. Who would like to help? We could separate the thngs to do.

We need:
tile designs
unit designs
maps
ideas
new races (elf dwarf)
Description of maps (I would do it if it is OK for everyone)

I already started a topic on a new race: Uruk-Hai! That was before I knew this was going to be a campaign im obsessed with LotRs

How about the triggering,ive been talking to daniel for sometime now and alot of the new triggers like rectangular area ones I thoght up of, I could trigger up the maps as well as make em

Whoever is making the special heroes I want to be clear I saw the original post on what units to be implemented and saw some key characters missing: The Fellowship, Sauron, Isildur, Celeborn, Galadriel, Saruman, Treebeard, Balrog, The Watcher of the waters, Eomer, Eowyn, Arwen, Elrond, Smeagol, Shelob, Lurtz, The mouth of Sauron, Grima Wormtongue, Theodeny, and possibly Tom Bombadil and Beregond

Patroid is making the units for this campaign, the units that are still missing for now are:
all fellowship members, nazgul, fell beast, Saruman, the Ents and siege towers
As soon as we have these units, we can start with designing the maps etc

Gollum, Shelob and the Balrog will maybe be added, but it's hard to make so many special units.

And the others are not really important for now:
-Isildur, Elrond and Sauron are not fighting in the current storyline (we can always make a map for them later)
-Celeborn and Galadriel are also not fighting in the current storyline (maybe they have fought in an earlier battle, but i'm not sure about that)

Of course if someone else can design or find a good image of those other characters (theodon, eowyn, eomer etc), than you can always post them here :)

And dont forget that the ringwraiths are separate from from the fell beast but the fell beast always has the ringwraith
and we need the witch king on foot for eoywn and merry to kill plus the watcher of the water

i had asked Patroid to make:
-Normal Nazgul on foot
-Nazgul on a black horse
-Fell beast without Nazgul

Are you sure the fell beast always have a nazgul on it? Than we have to change it

Quite positive tht the ringwraiths were always on the fell beasts to control them, otherwise they would be doing whatever they want

Oke you are probably right :), and than it will also be more easier for Patroid to make a Nazgul on the fell beast when it's 64x64 tiles

Who put in the Lotr maps already? I have a few issues, the fellowship is severely underpowered and there are no triggers
the fellowship isn't just massacred by the Uruk-Hai at Amon hen you know

Amon-hen is winnable (probably without loosening any members) but moria isn't (I assume due to lack of triggers and time limit editing ;) )

and moria was winnable when i tried, but that there have been a lot of changes since :)

8Im working on the triggers :) but there hasnt been much communication between us so im indecisive on putting in triggers
im talking that gimli can be out matched 1v1 by an uruk, legolas should get 1+ attack power so he can 2 shot uruks
aragorn should have ability athelas (healing)
gimli maybe gets leap (if codable) or beserk mode (+10 attack) and axe throw
The hobbits get elven cloak (2 turns invisible) since they'll die one hit
make the hobbits have names (frodo pippin) and give frodo 8 pierce and physical armour (mithril mail)

Maybe make amon hen so the fellowship has already been divided (boromir with pippin and merry, aragorn legolas and gimli together, sam frodo running to the boats

i like the elven cloak idea. I had already thought of Frodo making himself invisible with his ring, but your idea is better.
gandalf has already a heal, so i'm not sure if aragorn also needs one.
also the berserk modes for gimli sounds nice :P

and here are a few things that still have to be changed in moria:
-church should only be able to heal, not to recruit units
-you win the map when you kill everything or when you cross the bridge.
i'm not sure about this one:
-you lose when someone dies. But than it will be too hard i think :)

about amon hen: shall i send my current file to you? so you can edit it, or make a new one

About Helmsdeep, don't know if it's possible to make such a trigger:
-There are currently 8 assassins to destroy the walls, it would be nicer if there's only 1. And when he hits the wall, the surrounding 2-4 tiles will also receive damage

And i'm currently learning for my exams, so don't have much time :(

i think you need no assassins at all.
when the uruk hai will get close simply explode it using triggers - so it will be fine.

I am currently working on moria extensively and if a hero dies you lose, I am only lacking the trigger to change sight and armour(heck, gimlis gonna have to go toe to toe with a cave troll)
im thinking about turning the churches neutral and as it is it cant train units/ or we could make them pop up enabled when the fellowship walks in and ask Daniel to restrict all unit training.
Amon hen: I think ill try my best to make my own and then ill send it to you for approval

not new it was always there:
- enable/disable Object (eg. a TC or a unit) (fill: effect type, ObxXY)

I mean the thing you did with nyhados strategy, you restrict the units you can make, if you do the same thing here then we can avoid having to disable the churches so they can still heal
And could you please implement the obj change sight and armour/pierce
do this and my moria editing is almost done :D
