Elven walls revamp
Elven walls revamp
I see the regrowth ability was suggested before I got around to suggesting it. That saved me some time, so I believe to make elven walls more useful they should be able to mend themselves to compensate for their weakness. Also, now this is only a suggestion but should they be able to have dodge capabilities since the enemy's just swinging or shooting at a bush?

A dodging bush.....?
No.
Regrowth maybe.
May in future they get different structures if add subraces.

What about making them as builders who can build other thorn walls? this way they will be much more useful.
And also make them dealing 100% damage on counter.

Put some numbers, compare to what other races have and so on. Some real info why it must be done.

Nice,
I can see how the AI will overwhelm the map whit bushes.
They get better mend rate than Ent workers ?
I think Ai doesn't use walls anyway.
Also better making this a skill and not an action to not affect campaign maps.
But yes, it could work.

Re: Elven walls revamp
Heh.
Give spikey bushes regeneration, first strike, 100% counter damage, and add this:
Summon spikey bush: range 2, cooldown 3. Cooldown active when a bush is built, to avoid infinite chains.
Must be researched at tc for 5 cost. Give this to wood shaper (whenever it gets in) and spikey bush. This tech is not packaged in with the "all techs researched" option, because the ai would choke itself on any map it has one otherwise.
This would solidify elf walls as incredibly cheap, renewable barriers that, while weak individually, are very annoying to hack through layer upon layer as they repair themselves and continually plug any holes you make if you don't make the effort to eradicate them.
Edit: for anyone who has ever seen sleeping beauty (Disney animated version) think the mass of thorns the prince struggles to cut through lol

I'd say rng 1, that way it looks like the Bush is growing outward and not springing up in another place. Agreed on making it researchable to get this ability.

Yeah you're probably right. I'd say range 3-4 for wood shaper using it though.
